Whether it’s a study of natural objects like fruits, or a contemplative arrangement of everyday items, each artwork offers a glimpse into my perception and interpretation of the world around me.

This project explores the way color rendering process can be used as visual communication tool. Different drawing techniques (pure line, pure tone, and line with tone) are applied to render form and depth.

This project explores the relationships between line, value, and shape in creating a complex composition. The elements of the composition are inspired by the components of a stapler and are arranged in a way that places great emphasis on focal center, balance, and depth. All elements are directed toward the center of the artwork, creating a focal point to which the viewer’s eye is naturally drawn. This creates a roughly circular form, which gives the composition a sense of radial balance. Lastly, elements around the edge are drawn larger in size than those closer to the center, adding a sense of depth to the art.

This project explores different kinds of furniture styles and historical periods. Inspired by a Chinese rank badge, the bench consists of 65 repetitions of an element from the textile. Some holes are filled with red filters to emphasize the color red, which symbolizes happiness and good fortune, in Chinese culture. This symbolism is further emphasized by the name of the bench, ‘Fu,’ which means good fortune or luck in Mandarin.
